NSCC hosts OACAC College Fair

March 8, 2023 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - Northwest State Community College hosted the Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling (OACAC) Annual College Fair on Tuesday, March 7th with a tremendous turnout in the Atrium. In total, roughly 55 colleges and universities from a four-state area welcomed over 600 area high school students at the event. Read more

Northwest State Community College Elects Board of Trustees Officers for 2023-2024 Term

February 27, 2023 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - The Northwest State Community College Board of Trustees met in regular session on Friday, February 24. As part of the meeting, the Board held its annual election for the positions of Chair, Vice Chair and Second Vice Chair. Scott Mull was elected to assume the duties of Chair, Sandy Barber was elected to serve as Vice Chair, and Katrina DeGroff was elected to serve as Second Vice Chair. Read more

Center for Lifelong Learning Presentation Scheduled for February 17

February 2, 2023 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - Kevin Moore is the Curator of Artifacts at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums in Fremont, Ohio. He is responsible for caring for the museum’s collection of 20,000+ objects and designing its annual rotating exhibits. A graduate of the MA history program at BGSU, Kevin has also taught American History at Northwest State Community College for 10 years. Read More

NSCC Creates Innovative Short-term Certificate Programs

January 31, 2023 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - In 2021, The U.S. Department of Labor awarded $40 million through the Strengthening Community College Training Grants program, which helped community colleges meet the labor market demand for a skilled workforce. Northwest State received nearly $1.7 million of that total award, and the College is putting that money to good use with an innovative short-term certificate program in Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) or Industrial Automation. NSCC is currently enrolling for spring term classes in these programs, so those interested in participating are encouraged to apply now! Read more

Van Wert Campus of Northwest State Community College Announces More Spring 2023 Classes in Van Wert

January 23, 2023 - VAN WERT, OHIO - Your Van Wert Campus of Northwest State Community College is excited to announce the release of its 2023 spring 8B semester class schedule. The second half of NSCC’s spring semester schedule will again feature 8-week long courses taught with face-to-face lecture occurring one-night-a-week. The courses will begin on March 20, 2023. NSCC Announces Be Bold Adult Ed Pathways

January 18, 2023 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - Northwest State Community College is now enrolling for its first “Be BOLD” cohort starting this fall, which is an adult (25+) learner program that includes hybrid courses (combining online and in-person) with evening options in an accelerated format. Business-related courses will be among the first ones available; namely Business Management, Marketing, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, and Banking & Finance. Read more

Northwest State Announces Fall 2022 Dean’s List

January 12, 2023 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - Northwest State Community College has announced its fall 2022 semester Dean’s List. To be eligible, students must have taken at least 12 credit hours as a full-time student, or 6-11.99 as a part-time student, and have averaged above a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. NSCC Receives Choose Ohio First Grant

December 26, 2022 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - Northwest State Community College received a “Choose Ohio First” grant in the amount of $720,000 for fiscal year 2023, from the State of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE). The award letter, dated December 5, 2022, noted that the State is providing $28 million to various educational institutions for this funding cycle, and that they have committed more than $161.3 million over the past four years to STEM and STEM Education scholarships. Nscc Receives $149,700 Capital Safety Grant From Ohio Department of Higher Education

December 21, 2022 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - Northwest State Community College received a capital Campus Safety Grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) in the amount of $149,700, which will help improve the overall physical security and safety of the NSCC campus. Read More

NSCC Celebrates Fall 2022 Graduates at Commencement

December 20, 2022 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - Northwest State Community College celebrated the December 2022 graduating class at their fall ceremony last evening, held as an in-person ceremony in the Voinovich Auditorium. The ceremony recognized the awarding of 106 degrees and/or certificates to 103 students from the divisions of Arts & Sciences; Business & Public Services; Nursing and Allied Health; and Science, Technology, Engineering Technology & Math (STEM) and Industrial Technologies. Nscc Receives $91,700 Rapids 6 Award For Robotic Welder

December 16, 2022 - ARCHBOLD, OHIO - Northwest State Community College received a grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) in the amount of $91,700 to support the Regionally Aligned Priorities in Developing Skills (RAPIDS) program, an initiative of the ODHE. Northwest State will use the award to purchase a Robotic Welder for its STEM and Industrial Technologies division. The grant proposal was submitted by a consortium of educational partners, which included Northwest State. Read More

Registration Is Open for Onsite Classes in Van Wert for January 2023

December 14, 2022 - VAN WERT, OHIO - Our Van Wert Campus schedule for Spring 2023 will allow students to enter several of Northwest State’s career pathways, including Business, Healthcare, Social Behavioral Sciences, Communications, English, & Humanities, Public Services, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, and Math & Natural Sciences. The second 8-week section of onsite Van Wert courses will begin in March in which we plan to offer CIS14 Microsoft Applications and IND107 Print Reading & Sketching, among others. Read more
