Business & Public Services
The Business and Public Services Division offers a variety of majors in the fields of business, criminal justice, human services and education. Many programs have the option for state licensure or certification.
The NSCC Law Enforcement Academy qualifies graduates to become certified by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. Graduates of the human services program can become Registered Social Work Assistants (RSW) in the state of Ohio. The education programs offer students the option for licensure by the Ohio Department of Education as Pre-Kindergarten or Paraprofessional Educators.
NSCC offers a variety of business programs that provide the skills needed to help students who are seeking a new and rewarding career in business. These programs also benefit students who are interested in advancing their current careers. Many of our business associate degrees have a two-plus-two option. This means that students can earn the first two years of a bachelor’s degree at Northwest State and transfer seamlessly into their junior year at a four-year college or university.
Northwest State Community College business programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Information about ACBSP and the importance of accreditation may be found at www.acbsp.org.
Our Business Division Mission Statement per ACBSP Accreditation Standards: It is the mission of the Business Division to support the mission of Northwest State Community College by offering relevant, academically rigorous courses, certificates and degrees that meet the current and emerging needs of our students and other stakeholders.
