AGRONOMY

Program Overview

This Associate of Applied Science Agronomy degree prepares graduates for careers in agronomic related fields, with an emphasis in nutrient management and soil related opportunities, such as crop consultant, soil technician, and other related technical positions. The program stresses basic sciences and practical, but innovative, approaches to the field of agronomy. Graduates will be prepared for entry level positions as crop specialist, nutrient management specialist, precision agronomist, agricultural research technician, and soil fertility specialist.

 

Career Outlook

The future of agronomy is technology driven, requiring the application of sensor and remote sensing technologies, data generation, and the ability to analyze and act on the data. Today, the field of agriculture requires sound agronomic principles and the inclusion of modern practices and technology paired with sustainability.
