ACCREDITATION

History and status

1971 – The College was granted correspondent status by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.

1973 – NSCC was designated “Candidate for Accreditation” status and biennial visits were made in March 1974 and March 1976.

1977 – Initial accreditation was granted.

1982 – The next North Central Association evaluation visit was conducted and Continued Accreditation status was given until 1989.

1989 – A second comprehensive visit was conducted.

1991 – A focused visit occurred, relating to the change in the governance system.

1994 – A focus visit was conducted based on the College’s change of status to a state community college.

1996 – The College was granted the maximum ten-year accreditation.

2006 – A comprehensive visit resulted in a five-year accreditation with an interim visit in March 2009 focusing on governance, student assessment and program review.

2011 – The College earned the maximum ten-year accreditation with the next comprehensive visit to be during the 2020-2021 academic year.

2021 – The College earned the maximum ten-year accreditation with the next comprehensive visit to be during the 2030-2031 academic year.

ACEN Logo

All nursing programs in the division are fully approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing. The RN program is also accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
