State Authorization

Northwest State Community College has been approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) initiative. Participation in SARA provides the College with reciprocity to offer online/distance learning programs to residents of other SARA states (except where noted below). Additional information regarding SARA can be found at NC-SARA.

 

License Disclosures

Students who are considering an academic program that may allow them to pursue professional licensure in their state or territory are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate licensing agency to seek information and additional guidance before beginning a program outside of their state. Northwest State Community College and its programs are accredited through a variety of commissions and state organizations. We are proud to maintain accreditation through the following:

Northwest State Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The College underwent their Comprehensive Evaluation for Reaffirmation on February 22-23, 2021 and the Institutions Actions Council (IAC) of the Higher Learning Commission acted to continue accreditation at its May 3, 2021 meeting. Northwest State Community College was reaffirmed by the Commission through 2030-2031.

Northwest State Community College’s next Reaffirmation of Accreditation visit by the Higher Learning Commission is tentatively scheduled for September, 2030.
