REAL ESTATE CERTIFICATE

Program Overview

Students who complete NSCC’s real estate certificate program are qualified to pursue licensure through the Ohio Real Estate Commission to become a real estate salesperson (agent). Real estate agents assist people in locating properties that fit their personal or business needs. Agents facilitate the buying process and transfer of property. An agent may also help a client find a place to rent, help clients sell property or help secure renters for a property. Some agents work for construction companies, promoting homes that the company is building.

Real estate agents work for brokers on a contractual basis and must be sponsored by an Ohio broker as a requirement to take the state licensing test. The Ohio Real Estate Commission has approved the following courses in preparation for licensure: REA 210 Real Estate Principles, REA 220 Real Estate Law, REA 230 Real Estate Finance and REA 240 Real Estate Appraisal. All courses in the certificate program can be taken online. Most course in the real estate certificate program can apply towards a number of degrees in the Allied Health, Business & Public Serices Division.
