Congressman Bob Latta visited Northwest State’s Archbold campus on August 9, 2018, and met with NSCC President Dr. Michael Thomson and various department staff to discuss the ongoing importance of student success. Mr. Latta also toured the College’s ‘E’ Building to see first-hand the renovations to advanced manufacturing facilities.
The renovations, which are expected to be completed by early fall, are part of the College’s continued commitment to provide a quality education and enhance workforce development efforts. The education and hands-on training provide students the tools they need to enter into or strengthen existing career paths and earn family-sustaining wages.
As part of the tour, Latta visited the renovated welding lab, shared in discussion about the increasing need for skilled workers in advanced manufacturing, and also learned of service learning projects in which the College’s students and faculty have recently participated using 3-D printing and other innovative technologies.
“We appreciate Congressman Latta visiting the college, and we thank him for his continued support of Northwest State,” said Dr. Thomson. “As we celebrate 50 years of service, it is an honor to share the good news of our wonderful work with the community,” Thomson concluded.
