Program Overview
Graduates of the marketing degree are skilled in marketing, marketing research, salesmanship, advertising, and retail management as well as accounting and supervision. Graduates are qualified for a position as a manager or assistant manager of a retail store. Graduates may also work as managers or supervisors of other organizations as well as in marketing research, sales, advertising or social media companies. Good communication and presentation skills are learned in this program. This degree can be obtained online or traditionally in the classroom.
Marketing encompasses the four P philosophy (price, product, place and promotion) and opens many doors to further studies as a product or brand manager, marketing or research analyst, salesperson, advertising account manager, and marketing channel manager just to name a few.
Career Outlook
Overall employment of advertising promotions and marketing managers is projected to grow 10 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. Employment growth will vary by occupation; marketing research and social media have the fastest growth rates.
