NSCC is seeking a qualified instructor to teach mechanical courses for the Archbold and Scott Park (Toledo) locations. The candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of relevant education, experience and training totaling a minimum of 5 years.
- In the benchwork course the instructor will introduce basic tools, safety, precision and accuracy. Topics include materials, mechanical fasteners, measurement, tolerance, fit, layout and hand and power tools for drilling, grinding, sharpening, hardening, deburring, filing, polishing, layout, hand taps and cutting threads with a die.
- In the machine repair course, instruction will include basic fundamentals of methods and means to rebuild a production machine such as realignment of columns of tables, scraping of ways, replacing spindles, gears, bearings, gibs, etc.
