About the Group
The Dean’s Leadership Cluster (DLC) is a group of high impact students dedicated toward achieving excellent grades and committed to volunteering for service both at NSCC and in their communities. These students represent the future leadership in northwest Ohio.
The group participates in experiential learning, meeting business leaders locally and across the country. In prior corporate visits, students have met with the marketing director of Tom and Chee, a company featured on the popular television show Shark Tank. The group also studied the economic impact of Cincinnati’s streetcar system and retail operations. Students traveled to Portland, Oregon, where they met with Pendleton Woolen Mills leadership, and with the director of global innovation at Columbia Sportswear.
The DLC will be visiting the Seattle area March 10-14 to meet with leadership professionals at Convoy, Jones Soda, Seattle City Planning Commission, Starbucks, Amazon, Pike Place Market Preservation & Development Authority, and Conservation Services. The students will be interacting with product managers, directors, vice presidents and principals, learning about leadership, organizational culture, business strategies for success, challenges and organizational vision.
