JUNE CAMPS

Beginning Robots

Beginning Robots – Want to build a robot? In this beginning robot you will learn to build a basic EV3 Mindstorms robot then program it to do different tasks. Attendance in this camp will give you the skills to participate in the FIRST LEGO League program and other NSCC Summer Robotics Camps. Includes a field trip to a local manufacturer, APT Manufacturing Solutions, to see how industrial robots work. Lunch provided. Min 6/Max 12

Adventures on Monster Island 1-3!

We need an amusement park for little monsters. Students will create their monsterish family and a sweet spot for them to vacation. Art work, brochures, maps, eating spots, themed hotels, advertisements and spin-off memorabilia are all part of the package. We’ll do all this and more in a wild and wacky technical writing class with Mrs. Frake. Min 6/Max 20

First Aid Camp*

Learn safety, infection prevention and first aid as taught by the NSCC Nursing staff. Explore the skills needed for a career in Nursing. Includes building your own first aid kit. Min 4/Max 10 *Register for both the First Aid and CPR camp and get lunch FREE!

Time: 9:00 am – 12 noon

Cost: $75

Grades: 4-7

CPR Camp*

Learn Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) according to the American Heart Association (AHA) standards for the adult, child and infant. This camp is for the K-12 student card. If you are interested in exploring healthcare, this would be a great camp choice. The CPR cards will be sent to you via email. You will need a parent email address. Min 4/Max 10 *Register for both the First Aid and CPR camp and get lunch FREE!

Babysitting 101

This camp is designed to support young campers in becoming babysitters. They can expect to learn the following while here and leave with related materials that will allow them to babysit immediately: general babysitting information, safety tips, diaper changing, behavior tips, indoor and outdoor activity ideas, basic first aid skills and how to communicate with families professionally. Min 6/Max 12

LEGO Build It I

Kids like to move around and have lots of fun. Moving around makes people happy and healthy. Inclusive playgrounds are being built in many communities. What would you put into a playground? Can you design and build a new place for kids to have fun and get moving? Come join us as we design and build a new playground with LEGOs. Min 6/Max 12

LEGO Masters

You have seen them on TV! Now is your opportunity to build like they do on the popular tv show. Build your model which will incorporate moving parts. You will have 6 hours to build the chosen theme. Bring a friend! Min 6/Max 16

Magic Camp

Learn to do tricks with items around the house in this magical camp. Learn card tricks, rope tricks even some money tricks. Don’t miss out on your chance to be the next Houdini! Includes lunch. An “Evening of Magic” performance to show off your new magic skills for families will be at 7:00 pm at the Birch Theatre in Wauseon. Door charge of $8.00/person. Min 6 /Max 12

Hydroponics

How do you grow plants without soil? In water of course! In this camp you will learn how to build a hydroponic system so that you can grow plants hydroponically. You will design and build your own hydroponic system to take home. Min 6/Max 12

Battlebots

Back by popular demand! Build your own Battlebots and then compete for the title of Battlebot champion! Kids bring your parents and challenge them to a Battlebot duel! Lots of fun for all! Limited space – 12 spots only! Cost includes basswood Battlebot to take home. Min 6/Max 12

Esports

Join our Esports Smash Ultimate camp and turn your passion for gaming into a career! We teach campers about the Esports industry and streaming on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. With a focus on proper match etiquette and sportsmanship, we create a positive and respectful experience for all players. Robots and Drones: Artemis ROADS (Rover Observation and Drone Survey) Challenge

We are heading back to the moon and Artemis is the ship that will take us there. What will you take with you? Join us as we learn more about the Earth’s satellite and how we will live on it. We will fly drones to simulate the Artemis flight path, build and program a robot that can drive on the challenging lunar surface, create our own moon surface and do experiments for living on the moon. Lunch will be provided. Min 6/Max 10 Experience programming a robot required! Pre-requisite: Beginning Robot Camp, one year on FLL team or 4H Robot I program.

JULY CAMPS

Advanced Robotics

In this advanced camp, campers will build and program a robotic arm to pick up objects and pass them on to another robot. Camp includes a trip to tour a local manufacturer, Pioneer Industrial Systems, that uses robotic arms in production. Lunch included. Requisite: Beginning Robot Camp, one year on FLL team or 4H Robot I program.

Space Camp

The year is 2040 and you are an astronaut on your way to the moon. We will travel to the Challenger Center in Oregon, OH where we will navigate our way into a lunar orbit, launch a probe and analyze a variety of date to select a site for establishing a permanent moon base. You will be part of the crew to begin a new era in human exploration in the “Return to the Moon program”. Includes a trip to the Challenger Space Center in Oregon, Ohio. Lunch and transportation will be provided. Min 5/Max 25

Cooking Camp

It is time to cook! Put on the aprons, get out the mixing bowls and get ready to mix up some yummy fun! Learn the science of food preservation as you make your own preserves!

Beginning Spike Robot

Using the LEGO Spike robot, campers will learn to build and program using the Spike software. Then you will integrate your skills to program the robot to complete camp challenges. Participating in this camp will give you the basics to participate on an FLL team. Lunch included. Min 6/Max 8
