What should I wear?
The weather in early May can be unpredictable, so graduates should pay close attention to the weather forecast. Commencement will be held outdoors unless conditions are unsafe (thunder and lightning, high winds, etc.). This means that it could be sunshine and warm, raining or snowing on your graduation ceremony. Remind your family and friends to dress appropriately and don’t forget the sunblock!
How many guests can I bring?
If the ceremony is held outdoors, there is no limit to the number of guests per graduate. In the event the ceremony is moved indoors, however, seating is only guaranteed for two guests per graduate. Indoor seating is limited, so even guests with tickets may be asked to sit in another classroom and watch the ceremony remotely on a TV or large screen projector.
Can my guests sit indoors?
The College does provide indoor seating for guests who cannot sit outside in the elements. A live, streaming video of the ceremony is shown in the Voinovich Auditorium for any guests who would like to stay indoors.
When will I receive my diploma?
Diplomas are mailed 4-6 weeks after the registrar’s office verifies completion of requirements.

Am I eligible for a gold honor cord?
Graduation with honors is based on the fall grade point average. Any student graduating with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher will be graduated with honors as follows:
3.50 – 3.74 Cum Laude
3.75 – 3.89 Magna Cum Laude
3.90 – 4.00 Summa Cum Laude
Honor graduates will receive a gold honor cord with cap and gown. There is no charge for honor cords. The fall cumulative grade point average is used to determine honors when printing the commencement program. The diploma and transcript will display the honor if earned.
As a U. S. veteran how do I receive a veteran honor cord?
Please provide proof of military service by showing your DD214 to the registrar’s office by March 31. A red, white and blue cord will be included with the cap and gown.
