NSCC welcomes students who are explorers and want to keep their options open until they have a chance to learn about a variety of fields. The career services office, located in A105E, offers resources that assist students in choosing a major. Below are a few of the resources that are available to all Northwest State students.

Career and Life Planning (CAO120)
This 3 credit hour general studies elective course will guide you through the process of career decision-making in a very systematic way. This online course is offered every semester.
Career Choices Workshops
Offered several times a month, these sessions are introductions to career planning. Participants will complete an interest profiler and a work values inventory to match occupations to their needs.
Helps you identify your inherent strengths and skills that are transferable across careers. It will help you to: identify career options that utilize your skills and talents; prepare strategies to move your career in the right direction; gain a skill-based language that will help you market your strengths on a resume and in interviews.
Sometimes you know what you want to do but are not sure how to get there. Developing an educational plan at the beginning of your college career will help you stay on track and guide you through any obstacles you may encounter throughout your education. The College offers assistance with designing your educational plan through the Student Resource Center.
